Refund Policy
Seven days, no questions asked
If you are not happy with a paid plan, email hello@ditchscroll.com within 7 days of the payment and we will refund it in full. You do not have to explain why, and we will not try to talk you out of it.
This applies to your first payment on a plan and to each renewal. It applies whether you used the plan or not.
Seven days rather than a month because the free plan never expires: you can read three books a month, ask questions and keep highlights without paying at all, so nobody has to buy a subscription to find out whether the app suits them.
After seven days
We do not automatically refund a period that is more than 7 days old, but do ask. If you were charged for a year you did not mean to buy, or something on our side stopped the app working, tell us what happened and we will sort it out.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time from Settings. Cancelling stops the next payment and keeps your plan working until the period you already paid for runs out — we do not cut you off the moment you cancel.
Cancelling on its own does not refund the current period. If you want that too, ask within 7 days and you will get it.
How the money comes back
Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, through Paddle, who handled the payment. We start it as soon as you ask; your bank usually takes 5 to 10 working days to show it.
What happens to your books
A refund ends the paid plan and your account drops to Free. Your highlights, notes and reading positions stay. Books you uploaded yourself remain in your library but need a paid plan to open again — nothing is deleted unless you delete your account.
If you were charged by mistake
Charged twice, charged after cancelling, charged for an account that is not yours — email us and we will refund it straight away, whenever it happened. Please write to us before asking your bank to reverse it; we will almost always be faster.
